CV/Bio
Jennifer started drawing cartoon characters of people, horses, dogs and cats when she was in grade school in order to entertain her friends. Her mother recognized her talent and sent her a couple of summers to an art school in Huntsville Alabama, learning perspective drawing. She sold her first painting to her 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Ruth Wright, for $5. Her love for animals and people has developed into an art expression where she concentrates on exposing their souls through their expressive eyes. Her life long avid admiration of Dutch and Flemish painters has influenced her oil paintings as she aspires to be a contemporary master of portrait painting combining it with determined effortless brushstrokes of impressionism. Jennifer went to New York in 2010 to study with Daniel Greene. She learned how to mix colors and apply tonal values as Daniel Greene teaches. Still desiring more from her work she has been a student of Dennis Perrin, Igor Babailov and Casey Baugh.
Her art has lead her to Europe, South America, and across the U.S.
Jennifer's contemporary mentors have been Daniel Greene, Dennis Perrin, Qiang Huang, Quang Ho, David Dunlap, Casey Baugh, Dawn Whitelaw. Her other influences are Sargent, Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, Mary Cassatt, Pablo Picasso, Rembrandt,Edward Hopper, Sam Fulton, Vermeer.
